A wild monkey vandalised a car aerial antenna by trying to remove it.

Footage shows the macaque twisting the stick and trying to pull it off from the parked sedan in Lopburi province, Thailand, on April 3.

It also tried to bite it off, but the object was sturdy, so it eventually gave up.

However, another monkey took its turn trying to remove the accessory while tourists could only watch from the side of the road.

Onlooker Dutsadee Yenjam said, 'Monkeys from Lopburi province climb onto the roofs of people's cars and pull antennas. That one monkey thought he could eat it, so he tried to snap it off but couldn't.'

Lopburi has become a popular tourist destination because of its large population of monkeys. The monkeys are mostly long-tailed macaques, and they can be found all over the city, from the temples to the streets.

However, they can also be aggressive, and they have been known to damage things especially cars stuck in traffic jams or parked on road sides.
