A father dog asked his owner to help rescue his puppy from a pond.

The two-year-old pooch named Porsche was playing at a farm when he was heard suddenly barking loudly in Sakhon Nakon province, Thailand on February 8.

His owner Phurithat thought Porsche was alerting him to an outsider but when he went to the spot where he had been crying, he saw the little three-month-old pooch Scott stuck in the ditch.

Footage shows the worried father dog Porsche looking towards his owner while sitting in front of the puppy.

The puppy Scott was caught on dried grass and leaves which prevented him from falling directly into the muddy pond.

Phurithat said: ‘Our house was nearby. I usually let them play around. They also help me guard the property and keep things safe.

‘But that time I knew the barking was different. I thought there was a thief or an outsider. Scott could have fallen into the pond if Porsche had not called me.'

Phurithat pulled the puppy by his collar and happily wagged his tail next to his father. The two pooches then stood and looked at Phurithat obediently.

Phurithat added: ‘They were not hurt but I might build a fence around these parts for safety.'
