An elementary school homeroom teacher in Indonesia has been arrested by the police for molesting his female student.
The teacher's modus operandi was to punish the victim for not submitting assignments on time.

"The punishment was to write dozens of sentences of agreement in a book," said Bukittinggi Police Public Relations Officer, Inspector One Agustiar to reporters on Friday (22/3/2024). The victim cried, and at that time, the perpetrator hugged and kissed the victim from behind.

The case was brought to attention when the victim's sister noticed changes in her behaviour and a decrease in her IQ test results.

Upon investigation, the victim disclosed the abuse she had been subjected to by the perpetrator since mid-2023.

The police have gathered evidence and witness statements, and the perpetrator could face up to 15 years in prison.
