Quick-thinking swimmer saves drowning child, 4, who climbed into deep pool
This is the dramatic moment a drowning child was rescued in a swimming pool.
The youngster Win Pinthong, four, was taking swimming lessons in the knee-deep paddling pool but climbed over the separating wall when the teacher's back was turned.
CCTV footage shows the youngster, wearing a yellow-green shirt, plunging into the water and flailing as the water covered his head and he could not touch the bottom.
A youngster who was having a lesson in the deeper pool spotted the danger and swam over to help the youngster in Bangkok, Thailand.
The swimming instructor then rushed to check on the terrified boy, who kept crying as his mum Pattarawadee Pinthong picked him up.
The incident has reportedly left Win traumatised of swimming, prompting Pattarawadee to cancel the rest of his lessons.
Speaking on March 7, the furious mum said her son had recently been refusing to go to swimming classes at his school, and would only take a dip if he had a life vest on.
She said: 'Until now, I had not spoken out against the trainer because I wanted to take care of my son instead of making a fuss.
'I thought he would just forget about the incident, but it has affected my son's confidence in the water.
'The trainer didn't even tell me about it until two days later, when he was asking me for payment. It was only after I showed him the video that he apologised.
'I talked to him again and he only told me that if I blamed him he would not talk about it any more.'
Pattarawadee claimed that she posted the CCTV video to ask for opinions on what caused the incident - her son for climbing into the pool, or the trainer, who took his eyes off his pupils during lessons.
