Quick-thinking resident jumps into pool to save drowning boy
This is the dramatic moment a quick-thinking resident jumped into a pool to save a drowning boy.
The homeowner was having brunch with his relatives as the youngster, 5, the son of a worker repairing the family house, paddled in the kids' area of the swimming pool in Buriram, Thailand, on December 17.
However, the boy wandered over to the deeper section of the pool and plunged under the surface, causing panic among the residents.
CCTV footage shows how the man sprang into action, jumping into the water as onlookers screamed in panic. He then lifted the boy and placed him back in shallow waters before wading back to the poolside.
Onlooker Kwanchanok Rungniyom said: 'My family was having brunch together, then the boy, I think he is around five years old, whose father is a technician fixing the house that day, went into the pool and accidentally went into a spot that was too deep for him.
'He was about to drown. My boyfriend's dad noticed that and jumped into the water to save him right away.'
