Giant face mask put on southern China’s 'elephant' mountain, breaking Guinness World Record
A giant face mask was put on a mountain that resembles an elephant's trunk by eight farmers in southern China, breaking the Guinness World Record for the largest cloth face mask.
The video, filmed in the city of Yingtan in Jiangxi Province on January 31 shows eight farmers climbing up the peak to hang an around 13-metre-long and 9-metre-wide cloth face mask on the trunk of the elephant mountain.
The size of the mask is reportedly similar to the size of 10,000 ordinary face masks stitched together.
According to reports, it was an event held by the Mount Longhu Scenic Area to promote the attraction and pandemic prevention measures.
However, some Chinese netizens thought the event was meaningless. One person commented on China's Twitter-like social media Weibo: "Is pandemic prevention work not busy enough for them or do they have too much cloth?"
The video was provided by local media with permission.
