Dunraven School, Streatham, man attacks pupils with metal pole leaving 13 year old with serious injuries

A 13 year-old boy's in a life-threatening condition in hospital after reportedly being attacked with a metal pole in Streatham South London.

Officers say they found him with a head injury in Streatham yesterday afternoon.

A 35 year-old man's been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

Police said: At 3.23 pm police were called to Leigham Court Road, Streatham, to reports of a man armed with a metal pole attacking pupils leaving Dunraven School.

The 35-year-old suspect attacked several pupils and a teacher before being arrested by a police officer based at the school.

The victims included a 13-year-old boy who was struck in the head. He was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition with a fractured skull and bleed on the brain. Other pupils attacked fortunately suffered minor injuries.

The 13-year-old victim remains in hospital undergoing further treatment. His family is present with him and will be supported by officers.

The suspect has been arrested and is also being treated in hospital for minor injuries.

Crime scenes were started in Leigham Court Road and Culver House Gardens and remain in place while the initial stages of the investigation progresses.
