This is the heartwarming moment a good samaritan offered to take a family's tuktuk in his truck when he saw them travelling hundreds of miles to reach home.

Jay Katigbak was passing through the highway in Laguna, the Philippines when he saw a father pedalling his tuktuk with his children inside on September 17.

When asked where they were going, the tired father, Jonald Banal, said they are trying to reach the Samar Islands which is about 500 miles away.

The father wanted to take his family in his country home after he lost all his tuktuk customers because of Covid-19.

The family had been pedalling on the highway for five days, sleeping on the side of the road.

The truck driver was touched and offered to take them to the nearest port for free and gave them some money for fare.

Jay's friends also gave some cash assistance to the man after they heard of his situation.

He said: “The biker community is willing to help those in need. Good thing we saw him here."
