The Bay Horse Hotel stands at the water's edge of the Leven Estuary, commanding views of both the Lancashire and Cumbrian fells.
The views of the sea from the panoramic lounge today were spectacular as the high spring tide was driven in by a gale force wind. Most of the water was kept out of the pub by the good use of sandbags and the pub staff working in their socks mopping up the water that did get in.
