Brighton and Hove Bus - Double Dangerous Driving

Buy video

101 miles on this day and I came across one lethal driver... and it turns out he's a 'professional'. The first incident occurs when the bus driver passes me at the junction with Cranleigh Avenue on S Coast Rd, A259. The driver could not be bothered to wait and pass me safely, instead he forced himself into the other lane making the blue van move out the way but then he cut in on me and passed very close. I actually took the option to move out the way into the mouth of the Cranleigh Avenue junction. I was left shocked at that driving as he came very close to hitting me. Of course, his dangerous pass saved him very little time as I passed him stopped at a bus stop mere seconds down the road. This gave him another opportunity to show off his dangerous bus driving skills. This time quite illegally! He passed me on the hill very close and cut in on me forcing me to slow. I should note that it is actually illegal to cross solid white lines unless the vehicle you are passing is doing less than 10mph. I can assure you I was doing over 10mph. I should add that as he passed this time we both looked at each other. He made gestures towards the shared use cycle/pedestrian path. He should be educated that there is no obligation for a cyclist to use that, they have as much right as a bus or any other motor vehicle to use the carriageway and in fact it is advisory if the cyclist wishes to travel at over 18mph. Especially when you consider the number of driveways and turnings the cyclist would have to slow at on the pavement vs the road. This gesturing suggested to me that his dangerous passes were deliberately dangerous and trying to "teach me a lesson" about using the cycle path. I did not expect this from a professional bus driver.
