Jutland Battle 100 Year Anniversary Commemorations, Royal Family and German President view 21 Gun Salute by UK Navy and German Navy

Marking 100 years since the battle of Jutland the Royal Family, UK Prime Minister David Cameron and the German President Joachim Gauck were in the Orkney Islands to commemorate over 8500 sailors who died in the battle which was the first and last major Sea battle of the WW1.

The Federal German Navy Frigate Schleswig Holstein and HMS Kent a Royal Navy Type 23 Frigate both fired off 21 gun salutes as Princess Anne (representing the Royal Family and the Commonwealth Graves commission) and Joachim Gauck (German President) sailed by.

The video shows Princess Anne waving from the first Royal Navy P2000 patrol boat as it passes and Joachim Gauck waving from the second boat and then it shows the 21 Gun salute as the patrol boats pass the Battleships.

The battle of Jutland saw the largest naval battle of World War One and saw over 6000 British Navy Personal lose their lives and over 2500 German Sailors lose their lives.
