Chefs take part in an annual knife-cutting competition - hacking through blocks of wood and slicing bottles in half.

The incredible cut-off was held at the Hat Suan Son beach in Rayong, eastern Thailand, on April 27.

In the highlights video, competitors are seen chopping moving ping pong balls in half and swiping through rows of plastic water bottles.

Other parts of the obstacle course included thick ropes that they had to sever in a single blow while a more delicate task was cutting through the middle of straws.

PVC pipes, onions and watermelons were also thrown into the mix to add a different challenge.

The quirky event sees competitors bring their own freshly sharpened knives to tackle an obstacle course of objects to cut. This year, players from Vietnam even made the journey to compete.

Organisers said they are in the 32nd year and the 'sport' is growing rapidly. Chefs as well as knife collectors and hunting enthusiasts took part in the event this year. They expect more people to join in 2025.
