Pet cats were caught on camera stealthily opening the fridge door to steal snacks.

The felines noticed that the refrigerator was left slightly ajar and took the chance to find afternoon treats in Manila, the Philippines, on March 30.

CCTV footage shows the moggies led by lead cat Cali peering through the door of the appliance and browsing for something to eat.

In a display of remarkable teamwork, Cali pushed the door open with its limbs while his friends Trash Cant and Stampy searched the shelves. Three cats named Spinach Puffs, Tagliatelle, and Ravioli waited nearby appearing to act as lookouts.

Pet owner Anne Alegato said: 'I checked first which food were missing. An entire bowl of sardines had been eaten up.'

Anne said it wasn't the first time the cats had stolen from the fridge.

She added: 'That's why I put the CCTV there. There was one time they stole chicken and grilled fish.

'My cats were not hungry, but they like to snack and are very skilled at finding food.'
