STORYLINE:

Lack of treatment in the Gaza Strip forces Abu Mustafa Salem, a 49-year-old Palestinian man, to deal with his injury by himself as the hospital is so far away from his tent.
   
The man was the only survivor of his family in an Israeli attack that targeted his house in the Sheikh Redwan neighborhood in Gaza City two months ago. He was severely wounded and was transferred to a local hospital for treatment.

SOUNDBITE 1 (Arabic): ABU MUSTAFA SALEM, Gaza-based Palestinian patient 
"I don't want food and drink. I want treatment. I need bone reconstruction and I can't find anyone to help me. I have to treat myself because I didn't find anyone to help me."

Mohammed Attallah, another Palestinian, also experienced the same dire situation.

He was severely wounded in his right leg after an Israeli airstrike attacked his relatives' house in Khan Younis city in southern Gaza.

"I need calcium and vitamins, and I need to take X-rays. I cannot find any medications, in addition to the fact that the situation is very difficult in Gaza."

The residents of the Gaza Strip have been living in difficult conditions since Oct. 7, 2023, when Israel started its military operations against Gaza in response to a surprise Hamas attack.
