Off-road scrambler catches fire during muddy race in Thailand
An off-road scrambler caught fire during a muddy race in Thailand.
POV footage shows the dirt bike moving through the bumpy hill terrain before the racer Tum Kongtanin toppled over on a slope in Chiang Mai province, Thailand, on September 17.
But as Tum picked up his motorcycle, flames suddenly erupted from the vehicle's exhaust and quickly engulfed the seat.
The other trail riders, however, rushed to help him and doused the blaze with their bottled drinking water, saving the two-wheeler from further damage.
Tum said: 'It was caused by the fuel flowing into the hot exhaust pipe when the bike fell on a steep slope.'
Thailand is a popular destination for off-road motorbike riding, with a wide variety of terrain to choose from, including lush jungles, steep mountains, and sandy beaches.
