A storm battered a shop as the monsoon season intensified in Thailand and the effects of Typhoon Talim touched the country.

Footage shows strong winds blowing into the store in Ranong province on July 17.

The Thai Meteorological Department forecasted in a Tuesday weather advisory that several provinces were likely to be hit with heavy rain from July 18 to 20 due to the influence of Typhoon Talim.

Onlooker Warakamon Supa said: 'Before that, there was no wind blowing and everything was very calm. Then a strong wind blew in until the roof in front of the shop collapsed. It took less than 5 minutes.'

Thailand and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are approaching their annual monsoon rainy season which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rain storms in the afternoon leading to widespread flash floods.
