Rocks tumbling down a mountain narrowly missed cars driving past under it in northwest China.

The video was filmed in Aksu Prefecture in a Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on July 4.

A driver made an early observation of falling rocks ahead while driving. After applying the emergency brakes for a few seconds, a massive landslide occurred, sending a barrage of debris onto the road.

Mr Zhang, an informed witness, stated that such a significant landslide is rare in the local area and could possibly be attributed to the recent heavy rainfall during the rainy season.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
