Quick-thinking 3-year-old boy saved his grandma from a falling accident in eastern China.

CCTV footage filmed in the city of Fuyang in Anhui Province on May 8 shows an elderly woman hanging a sunshade cloth suddenly losing her balance and kicking down a ladder that she stood on.

Her grandson then came out of the house and ran to pick up the ladder before putting it under his grandmother to help her climb down.

Overwhelmed with relief and gratitude, the grandmother tightly embraced her little hero upon reaching the ground.

The child's mother, Ms Yang, spoke about the incident, revealing that only the grandmother and the boy were present at home at the time. She expressed her deep appreciation for her son's courage and quick response, acknowledging that his assistance in propping up the ladder prevented a potentially serious accident.

The video was provided by Ms Yang.
