A man in northern China's Liaoning Province risked his life to rescue a woman who had fallen into the Taizi River on April 4.

The dramatic incident was caught on camera, showing a man diving into the river without hesitation to save the drowning elderly woman.

According to the rescuer's friend, who provided the footage, the woman was safely rescued and is now recovering.

The hero has been identified as Su Jinlong, a former Navy veteran who now works as an assistant police officer.

On the morning of April 4, a sculler attempted to rescue a person who fell into the Taizi River in Benxi, Liaoning.

A man appeared in the frame and dived into the river to rescue the drowning person without hesitation.

According to the footage provider, the friend of the rescuer, the drowning female elderly was safe.

The hero called Su Jinlong ran along the river that morning.

Su, a Navy veteran, is an assistant police now.
