Residents in China's Hunan Province were left reeling after a sudden weather change on April 3. Hailstones as big as eggs fell from the sky, accompanied by heavy rain and strong winds.

The hailstorm caused damage to the rooftops of homes and severe damage to car windows.

According to officials at the Jishou Meteorological Station, the hailstorm was a rare occurrence that the city has not seen in many years.

It lasted for around 20 minutes, and fortunately, there were no reports of injuries or casualties.

The exact extent of the damage is still being assessed.
