This is the heartwarming moment a stray female dog was rescued after falling into a 7ft-deep well while playing in Thailand. 

The pitiful mutt was found by resident Siwaporn Cholsiripong, 69, who contacted rescue volunteers after discovering it stuck in the well's shaft in Chon Buri province on December 11. 

The rescue team trekked through the tall grass surrounding the hole before climbing inside it using a ladder.

They then tied a rope around the frightened stray and dragged it up to safety.

The dog had a wound on its face believed to have been inflicted during its struggle finding a way to escape. 

Siwaporn said: ‘I heard splashing sounds coming from the well. At first, I thought it was just a koi fish, but it turned out to be a dog. 

'I tried to reach for it myself, but it was no use, so I contacted the rescue volunteers. I would like to thank the team for saving this dog's life.'
