Heartbroken family watch their home dragged into raging river in the Philippines
This is the dramatic moment a house was washed away by a raging river as Typhoon Inday moved towards the Philippines.
The structure was dragged from the riverbank by the surging muddy torrents amid pounding tropical rain in the Talamban area of Cebu City on Friday afternoon September 9.
Heartbroken tenants could be heard crying on the riverbank as their property disappeared. It was seen further downstream floating with other debris.
A number of other homes were also caught in the overflow from when the river burst its banks and flooded the area. Several properties werer pulled into the deluge but there were no reported casualties from the incidents.
Inday has strengthened from a severe tropical storm into a typhoon as it moved across the Philippine Sea on Saturday morning.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said its packing maximum sustained winds increased of 120 km/h.
