A leopard was rescued after it entered a house in central Sri Lanka's Central Province.

The incident occurred in the town of Lindula, Nuwara Eliya district on August 4.

Visuals showed a leopard locked in a room roaring around. There was a cage right outside the door of the room covering the entire entrance. There were a number of bamboo sticks placed outside the room so that the door couldn't be easily opened.

The leopard was captured inside the cage by the wildlife officers. The cage was later kept inside the car.

According to reports, at midnight a family saw the leopard inside their room and immediately locked its door. They informed the wildlife officials about the incident and later the rescue operation was carried out.
