Built in the 45th year of Emperor Qianlong's reign of the Qing Dynasty (1780), the Temple covers an area of 37,792 square meters. In December 1994, the Chengde Summer Resort and its surrounding temples, including the Xumifushou Temple, were registered by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
