'The last thing this guy expected to encounter while riding a dirt track was a jump but as it's said, life surprises all in unique ways.

Footage filmed by David Chiu shows a rider tripping over a jump and falling down into the bush.

"This video was taken in Edmonton, AB, Canada," David told us. "The rider wasn't aware of this jump until after he had started riding. We are not advanced riders, so we knew there was a high chance of failure and thus, decided to film the jump.

"It was a pretty expensive bike and the landing broke the gear shifter off the handle. The rider was fine, just the usual cuts and bruises. We haven't done any jumps since."
