These step-siblings shared an emotional embrace as they were reunited for the first time in over a year.

Stephanie and her stepbrother Mason had not seen each other for a year and their reunion in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, was filmed on August 14.

The filmer Candice Grable, Stephanie's mum, said: "My daughter, Stephanie had a very bad car accident and almost lost her life a year ago.

"She has had multiple surgeries since. Her stepbrother, who is in the military, was stationed overseas at that time. They are very close.

"Stephanie and Mason hadn't seen each other for a year, so when he finally returned, he wanted to surprise her.

"Stephanie was getting ready to go out with her friends and I had to stall her. I knew when they arrived, so I started recording because I knew she was going to be so excited to see her brother. It definitely made me and her bonus mom tear up."
