Labour candidate 'forgets' party manifesto
Footage has emerged of the moment a Labour election candidate appeared to 'forget' the party's policies in a painful interview in Chiswick, west London, UK on Tuesday.
Ruth Cadbury, Labour candidate for Brentford and Isleworth, was caught off-guard in the awkward interview with a local website when asked what Labour's key manifesto promises were.
“Um *laughs* I can’t remember my key … I do need to check… I’m reading them every day... er… sorry… Labour’s key policies...", the candidate can be seen saying while visibly struggling.
The Chiswick Calendar, who filmed the interview, later said that she had "answered questions on housing, tax, the NHS and Heathrow expansion" during the hustings but "struggled" in their interview.
Cadbury was deputy leader of the local council before being selected as Labour's candidate.
