A mother and her son avoided being run over by a car after being knocked over on a road in eastern China.

The video, filmed in the city of Taizhou in Zhejiang Province on May 30, shows a car knocking over a scooter with a mother and her son on it.

The motorist then came out of her car to check them but she forgot to shift the gear.

So the car started to slide forward until it crashed into the guardrails on the roadside.

Since the mother stood up quickly and carried her son away from the front of the car, they avoided being run over by the vehicle.

Only the child suffered minor injuries, reports said.

5月30日11时35分，浙江台州温岭松门镇，张某驾驶浙J0***L号小型轿车在育英南路自西向东行驶，直行通过天竺路路口时，因未仔细观察、提前减速，撞上了同样未减速直行通过的电动车。
电动车驾驶人祝某和其儿子被撞倒在地，张某见状立即刹停车辆下车，急切地想要察看祝某母子两人的伤势情况，谁知张某在慌乱中忘记换挡，导致车辆继续向前滑行， 险酿二次事故。
张某被突发状况打乱了手脚，下意识伸手抓住左前车门，想要拽住溜行的车子，情急之下更是跳进驾驶位想要踩住刹车，最后还是撞向了路旁的电线杆护栏才停下。
庆幸的是，祝某母子在被撞倒后，祝某第一时间抱起被撞倒在地的儿子，及时避开了滑行的车辆，也避免了一场悲剧的发生。
据了解，电瓶车驾驶人无受伤，小孩轻微受伤，经事故双方协商一致，已自行解决。（视频由浙江台提供）
