This is the terrifying moment strong winds battered a house during a rainstorm in northern Thailand.

The incident was recorded by CCTV cameras inside the property in Nan province on May 3 when the region was hit by tropical summer storms.

The owner, Nong Fah, realised that she was not safe despite standing under the roof as the powerful winds shook her garage. She quickly ran inside before the strength of the winds increased, making rainwater and debris fly into the house.

She said: ‘The winds were so scary. I’m still in shock how powerful they were until now.’

Thailand and other countries in Southeast Asia such as Malaysia and Indonesia are approaching their tropical monsoon rainy season. Soaring temperatures reaching 35 degrees Celsius are often followed by powerful tropical storms with thunder, lightning, rain and flash floods.
