Italy's Mount Etna shakes, rumbles and spews massive columns of ash on Christmas Eve
One of Italy's most active volcanoes, Mount Etna, spewed massive columns of ash on Christmas Eve.
In the video repeated loud rumblings can be heard coming from the volcano.
"During the morning of December 24, a violent eruption occurred on Etna volcano, in Sicily, with huge ash plume and fractures all over the east flank," wrote filmer Giuseppe Distefano.
"Several earthquakes (shook) the villages around the volcano," he added.
Distefano and Marco Restivo captured the footage.
