A cute video has emerged of an elephant calf tripping over as it runs next to a waterhole on a hot day.

The footage, shot in the Manyeleti Game Reserve in south Africa in 2016, shows the little elephant falling into the mud before another member of the herd coms to comfort it.

"When this little excited Elephant calf came running along side the dam and slipped, you could almost see the embarrassment from the little one and how his older siblings comforted him," the filmer wrote online.

This video was taken in the Manyeleti Game Reserve @Tintswalo Safari Lodge, It was around 08:00 on a very warm summer morning when temperatures already peaked over 30'C in the morning, when we stumbled upon a very vocal Parade of African Elephants heading into the direction of a large body of water, we drove up to the dam and sat for a short bit before the parade arrived at the watering hole, and boy it was worth the wait in the blistering Heat, and we were treated with a whole herd of Elephants swimming and playing in and around the water, when this little excited Elephant calf came running along side the dam and slipped, you could almost see the embarrassment from the little one and how his older siblings comforted him
